DLF IPL T20 2010- a mega blockbuster. 
The 2010 Indian Premier League season, it’s happened to be a mega blockbuster event so far. It is the third season of the Indian Premier League, established by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in 2007. A huge global audience across multiple platforms tuned in to the Season Opener of DLF IPL 2010, with fans around the world displaying their enthusiasm and hunger for the start of this year’s tournament. Importantly, the tournament opener between Deccan Chargers and Kolkata Knight Riders garnered a TVR of 9.30 in Kolkata, the best ever viewer rating so far across all matches and all markets. Close on its heels were the Deccan Chargers fans in Hyderabad, which saw a TVR of 8.25, fans in Mumbai too followed the season opener with great interest turning in a TVR of 7.38, Bengaluru too saw a TVR of 6.58, while Delhi posted a TVR of 6.02.The tournament is being hosted by India and is scheduled to be played between March 12 and April 25, 2010. It is forecasted to have an estimated television audience of more than 200 million people in India. It will be the first ever cricket tournament which will be broadcast live on YouTube and also  the matches of IPL 3 will be screened in 3D across Movie halls in India. Five new venues have been introduced for the third edition of IPL. Nagpur, Cuttack, Navi Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Dharamsala  are the new venues.



The IPL is predicted to bring the BCCI income of approximately US$1.6 billion, over a period of five to ten years. All of these revenues are directed to a central pool, 40% of which will go to IPL itself, 54% to franchisees and 6% as prize money. The money will be distributed in these proportions until 2017, after which the share of IPL will be 50%, franchisees 45% and prize money 5%. Sony Entertainment Television signed a new contract with BCCI with Sony Entertainment Television paying a staggering Rs.  8700 crores (87 billion) for 10 years.
